Good Beginnings {Week 1, Day 2}

September 15, 2020
“40 Days” by Proverbs 31 Ministries | P31 OBS Week 1 Quote

Katrina Wylie here, your study leader for the rest of Week 1. If you haven’t yet, you can learn a bit about all your leaders here. I’m excited to get to know you more in the comments, too!

How’s getting started going? I have a confession about Day 1. On page 13, when directed to “Circle or write down how many times you see the word ‘good’ in Chapter 2” (of Genesis), I thought, “Nope, too long,” and I SKIPPED IT.

I can’t believe I’m sharing that right out of the gate. But I promise there’s an important purpose if you’ll stick with me.

As I kept going, I couldn’t focus. I kept sensing, “Go back, Katrina...”

FINE.

Bible study tip! Don’t ignore the promptings you sense while studying. Instead, explore them. They often hold the very thing God has for you!

My family and I pick a word and verse to focus on each year. For 2020, we chose “connect” and Genesis 2:18. Well, guess what? As I followed the nudge to go back to that activity I skipped, I was led to that verse!

Don’t miss this! Right from Day 1, God set out to confirm in my heart the good purpose He has for me (and you) to connect with others — a confirmation I needed in this pandemic season!

Like we learned in Foundations Week and yesterday’s bookwork, God is a God of good beginnings. He has a good beginning planned for you, including this study, so don’t ignore those promptings!

Today, starting on page 15, we’re working through:

I’m in it with you,

Kat

How is your study “beginning” going so far? What’s being whispered to your heart about your purpose?
