Access Granted {Week 5, Day 5}

“40 Days” by Proverbs 31 Ministries | P31 OBS Week 5 Quote

Hey, y’all, and happy (almost) weekend!

I work full-time in the field of education, so you can imagine the struggle of the past number of months as our in-person schooling model has been forced to adapt to an online environment. We’ve had to learn new ways of doing our jobs, and even for me, being fairly tech-savvy, it hasn’t been easy.

One of my ongoing frustrations has been clicking a link to something I need for my job, only to see these words splash across my computer screen:

Access Denied.

Womp womp.

When this happens, the only way to get the information I’m looking for is to go straight to the source, the document’s owner, then wait for an emailed invitation to join in.

How beautifully reflective this is of what Jesus does for us!

In the Old Testament, God’s people worked hard to fulfill every letter of the law in order to be close to Him, but they could never get it right and were constantly yearning for something more. Then Jesus came, the full embodiment of all we would ever need, ready to give us exactly that. He brought with Him the offer of complete redemption from who we used to be, and an invitation to follow Him straight to the Father.

In His time on earth, Jesus proved, as Hannah Schindler states on page 123 of our Study Guide, that:

“He was who He said He was.”

Or, in other words, when it comes to a connection with God?

Access Granted.

All because of Jesus.

And because He was who He said He was, we are who He says we are! We are chosen, we are loved, and we are redeemed.

Rest in that truth, friends.

Today we’re reading:

Happy studying!

The gift of redemption is a beautiful one indeed! How does it make you feel to know that, because of Jesus, we can be redeemed and granted access to our Father God?
