Praying Dangerously Begins Today! {Week 1}

April 6, 2020

Happy Day 1 of Dangerous Prayers by Craig Groeschel! My name is Kendra Schwarz and I’m the manager of P31 Online Bible Studies, but more importantly, I’m your new Bible study friend!

I want to go back in time to August 2019. Where were you? Our team was meeting with Craig’s team to discuss Dangerous Prayers for our 2020 P31 OBS calendar.

Now, fast forward to today, where we're experiencing COVID-19 and, at the same time, God's girls are getting together to learn how to pray more bold and confident prayers.

I truly believe this is God's timing at its finest. We have the opportunity to come together from around the world and pray more boldly than ever before.

Before we begin, I think it's important I fill you in on what you can expect with this whole online Bible study thing.

Dangerous Prayer:

Dangerous Prayers is broken up into three parts based on three simple prayers Craig Groeschel teaches us. For the first two weeks, we’ll be focusing on the prayer “search me.

Memory Verse:

We’ll also focus on three verses in this study  one that supports each dangerous prayer. We have two weeks to commit each verse to memory. Something that helps me is memorizing 2-3 words a day. Then by the end of the week, you have the whole verse memorized. This week’s is:

“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23-24 (NIV)

Did the word “anxious” jump off the screen at anyone else? Phew. I have so many anxious thoughts. One thing I’m encouraged by is He doesn’t leave us with our anxious thoughts. He wants to lead us in a way everlasting. There’s a destination and it’s one where we can rest in who He is and know He is in control.

Weekly Video:

In every Monday blog, we’ll send you a P31 OBS video with Craig Groeschel and a P31 team member or two. Today, he sits down with President of Proverbs 31 Ministries Lysa TerKeurst and Senior Director of P31 OBS Melissa Taylor. Let’s check it out!
