Time Out! {Week 4}

April 27, 2020

Hey, friends! Stacy Lowe back with you today, ready to jump into Week 4. First, though, let’s huddle up for a quick timeout to address the elephant in the room:

Brokenness isn’t fun.

There. I said it. I get it, and I’m right there with you. It isn’t fun to think about and it can be downright scary to pray for.

But I also believe there’s more to brokenness than meets the eye. So instead of letting our fears be bigger than our faith, let’s remember our God is bigger than our fears and move forward anyway. Scary or not, we’re in this together, okay?

With that being said, let’s recap where we’ve been and get moving into Week 4.

Ready? Set? BREAK!

Dangerous Prayer:

This week, we continue where we left off last week with “break me.”

Memory Verse:

We’re working on 1 Corinthians 11:24 again this week:

“And when [Jesus] had given thanks, he broke [the bread] and said, 'This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.'” (NIV)

How’s the memorization going? Here’s one tip to help:

Grab a dry erase marker, and write the verse out on your bathroom mirror. Then, each time you walk into your bathroom, read the words that will now be front and center. With so many of us spending much more time at home than usual, this is a great way to learn the verse. Once it’s memorized, the mirror can be cleaned off with a quick wipe!

Weekly Video:

In this week’s video, Craig Groeschel is joined again by P31 OBS Senior Director Melissa Taylor, who has a story of her own brokenness to share. It’s not just about the brokenness, though, but what’s come along with it. Take a look!

Let’s Chat:

In today’s video, Melissa said, “I’m closer to God than I was at the beginning of this. I have to be.” Can you relate? How have you been drawn closer to God through a past or present experience of brokenness?
