Hi! Katrina Wylie here, your study leader for the remaining third of Dangerous Prayers. With all the “social distancing” we’ve had to endure, it’s been even more enjoyable to interact with you in the comments these past four weeks — to hear your stories and how God is growing you and your prayer life. Way to persevere!

STUDY AT A GLANCE

Dangerous Prayer:

It’s time to shift our attention to “send me.” For our first week on this last dangerous prayer, we’ll look at four important aspects. How:

1. Praying for God to do something for us isn’t enough.
2. Our response when God calls us matters.
3. Our trust in God plays a role in how we respond.
4. Awareness of our sins grows our appreciation of God’s grace and fuels our prayers.

Memory Verse:

A new dangerous prayer means a new verse to memorize! In our final verse, we find a beautiful example of what it looks like to pray “send me” simply:

“Then I heard the Lord asking, ‘Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?’ I said, ‘Here I am. Send me.’” Isaiah 6:8 (NLT)

Leading up to this verse, God asks Isaiah to go to His people to tell them God’s going to destroy them because of their disobedience. Despite being given a difficult mission, Isaiah still says yes. His immediate and unwavering obedience stuns me. It also inspires me! Don’t we all aspire to respond like Isaiah? I can’t wait to dig in to learn how!
