Welcome back, friends!
Have you ever caught yourself saying any of these phrases?
"It’s not fair."
"I don’t deserve this."
"Someone else can do it."
"I don’t have anything to offer."
I have. It was only a few days ago when a past family situation arose, and I thought to myself, I don’t deserve this.
In Week 5 of Get Out of Your Head by Jennie Allen, we will be studying what it takes to eliminate those phrases from our thoughts and vocabulary and to focus instead on gratitude and seeking the good in others.
The wonderful thing about gratitude is that we don’t have to wait for a particular month or season to be grateful. Instead, gratitude can be an everyday occurrence in our lives if we choose to let it. Will you join me?
THIS WEEK …
We’ll be reading Chapters 13-14 of Get Out of Your Head. You can read the chapters at your own pace or follow the suggested reading plan in the "Next Steps" section.
We’ll be doing three check-in blog posts:
- Today (this, right here).
- Wednesday (including an optional, standalone Bible study lesson).
- Friday (including the Session 5 teaching video with Jennie Allen).
Our Verse of the Week is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18:
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (ESV)
Kendra and Jennie are back with the P31 OBS Video of the Week. Jennie shares with us the biggest lesson she’s learned this past year and answers questions to the girl whose future feels uncertain. You don’t want to miss this!

I am praying for you this week as we continue to stop the spiral of toxic thoughts.
See you on Wednesday,
Missy
