It Doesn’t End With Us! {Week 6}

“Get Out of Your Head” by Jennie Allen | P31 OBS Week 6 Quote

Friend, you have made it to the finish line, and it is time to GET EXCITED! Not because the battle is won — we know that’s a process — but because we can now recognize toxic thinking for what it is and are better equipped to do something about it. That’s worth celebrating indeed!

Over the past six weeks together, we’ve learned that what we think matters; how we think matters; and perhaps most importantly, we never have been and never will be in this fight alone. We are forever empowered through Jesus Christ, who will be by our side every step of the way.

And it’s not just about us either! As Jennie Allen says on page 223 of Get Out of Your Head:

“When we take every thought captive and reclaim our thinking patterns from the lies of the enemy, we are set free to set others free.”

This brings to mind 2 Corinthians 1:3-5. I love the Message paraphrase of these verses, which says:

“All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too.”

Purpose, y’all! We get to be the hands and feet of Jesus here on earth. And as we walk out that calling, those we set free will be well-positioned to go out and begin loosening the chains of others. And so on and so forth it goes. What a beautiful picture this creates!

So let’s get out there!

Even when the struggle is real, let’s keep pushing forward.

Even if we find ourselves needing the help of a professional, let’s keep fighting for victory.

Because it matters. You matter. And God says you’re worth fighting for. Always.

Thank you so much for joining us for Get Out of Your Head. It has truly been an honor to join you on this journey. We hope to study again with you soon!
