Hey there!
If you had to sum up the past several months, how would you describe it? Frustrating? Scary? Unsure? Brimming with potential?
Wait, what? I bet you wouldn’t pick that last one, would you? I can relate!
I’ve personally felt stuck in a hamster wheel for weeks on end, constantly moving but getting nowhere. I don’t want that to be the story of my life for 2020, though, and I don’t want that for you either. That’s why I can’t wait to begin our next P31 OBS study, Hidden Potential by Wendy Pope.
I’m Stacy Lowe, one of your study leaders, and while you may not immediately see potential and pandemic as going hand in hand, stick with me for a moment.
Across the world, we’ve all been affected in some way by COVID-19. For some, it’s meant long, exhausting hours at work, while others have been left wondering how they’re going to put food on the table. Some have gone stir-crazy with the family all cooped up inside; others have been alone and lonely for months. It’s touched us all, and no matter where we may fall along that spectrum, life has been interrupted.
Our fears, our faults, our failures and our frailties have all been magnified under the lens of recent events, and it’d be easy to sink beneath their weight. What if instead, though, we used this time of interruption to face those four F’s head-on and see what God has to say about them?
Believe it or not, God can use you (yes, YOU!) through those weaknesses, not in spite of them. Not only that, He wants to. He’s just waiting for you to get on board so He can show you how.
Our world is slowly beginning to reopen around us, and before we know it, we’ll be back out in it once again. Rather than going back to the "same old same old," let’s position ourselves to slingshot into the future God has for us — a future of being used by Him beyond our wildest dreams!
You see, there is potential in this life interrupted, because there is potential in each of our fears, faults, failures and frailties, just waiting to be unleashed. I can’t wait to dig in and discover it with you!
