Welcome back for the second half of our Hidden Potential P31 OBS! I’m Nancy Voyles, and I couldn’t wait to be here with you this week! Wherever you are in the study, join me in Chapter 4. There are still many great truths to discover!
Confession — I suffer from anxiety disorders so debilitating that I often can’t speak to people or even go to church. I want to be used by God and bring Him glory, but how do I do that with frailties that make me feel damaged and weak?
Let’s dig into author Wendy Pope’s teaching this week and figure out how!
This Week’s Topic:
Our third “F” is frailty. Google’s online dictionary defines frailty as “the condition of being weak and delicate.” Wendy defines it as “something we didn’t and don’t have control over but can still be used for our good and for God’s glory.”
So, as she asks on page 117, “Am I valuable even though I feel damaged?” Spoiler alert, the answer is YES! You are valuable! Journey this week with me to discover just how valuable, no matter how frail we may feel!
Verse of the Week:
In our verse, Paul the Apostle speaks of how Jesus views our frailty:
"But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV)
Wow, His power is made perfect in my weakness! That’s a tradeoff I’ll take!
Weekly OBS Video:
Have you ever looked at your frailties and wondered, “What did I do to deserve this?” This week, Kendra and Wendy explore that very issue and how to not let these thoughts rob us of the joy God has planned for us. Curious? Let’s listen in.
