Happy Friday!
We’ve read and learned a lot this week but we don’t want to stop there! Now we want to take what we’re learning and apply it! And we’re going to help you do just that right here on the blog each Friday.
There are many practical applications we can pull from this week. I’m going to share a few that stood out to me. Then my challenge for you is to choose one to implement!
- As Karen Ehman said, “This book is really about you and your relationship with God.” “The only thing you can control is yourself – your response to others, your attitude, your behavior.” So don’t forget about this week’s challenge from our Monday video. It’s a great place to start applying! Download and sign your pledge as an agreement to keep this study about you and Jesus, recommitting to showing up in your marriage!
- In Chapter One Karen reminds us, “Your marriage is a message, and people are watching you preach.” In other words, God can use our marriage as a way of displaying the gospel for others to see. What message is your marriage preaching? What’s one thing your marriage preaches well and one thing you can work on?
- In Chapter Two Karen references 1 Corinthians 13 and directs our focus to these three phrases: Love is patient, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Pick one of the three for you to focus on improving in.
If none of these applications resonate with you, I encourage you to skim back through the first two chapters (such as the “10 Ways to Love Your Sandpaper Spouse”) to find an application that does.
Hope you’ve enjoyed our first week of study as much as I have!
