Dear Mama,
A mother’s love is like none other. We provide love and support as our kids grow from being infants to teenagers to adults. The joys of motherhood certainly outweigh the nights when mothering can be so hard we cry ourselves to sleep.
As moms, we feed, clothe and nurture our children. While these are important, there is something equally important, and that’s praying for our children.
A few years ago, the Holy Spirit whispered something to me that stopped me in my tracks:
If you aren’t praying for your children, who is?
Tears welled up in my eyes because I knew He was right. I was so caught up in the daily hustle and bustle of raising my sons that my prayer life had taken a back seat.
Because of that whisper, I made it my mission to pray over my sons before their feet hit the floor to start their day.
Sweet mama, we know that, from the moment our children wake up, the world is competing for their minds and the enemy is on the prowl.
It’s time for our “mama bear” instincts to kick in! You know what I’m talking about — we mentally turn into a raging bear looking to take a swipe at the person that physically or verbally hurts our child. Let’s use these “mama bear” instincts when the enemy is coming after our children. And instead of taking a swipe with our claws, we can use the power of prayer to take down the enemy.
Will you join me in partnering with the Lord in prayer over our children? We will see the work He is doing in the lives of our children and in us.
You are an awesome mama! But will you promise me something? Do not feel guilty if you haven’t been praying over your child. It’s never too late to pray!
Love,
Missy
