Don’t Settle!

October 4, 2019

Hey there! Today we wrap up Week 5. Can you believe it? I know, I can’t either! Psalm 23 is just six verses, but, girlfriend, those verses are packed with power, right?

Okay, so this week Jennifer Rothschild teaches about how our Shepherd cares for and blesses us. She reminds us just how much He loves us. Through Him, hope, joy, thanksgiving and praise can overflow in our lives ... even if we’re in a valley.

How? It’s like Jennifer Rothschild encourages in Psalm 23: The Shepherd With Me:

“Friend, don’t settle for less than all God wants to give you.”

I love this! You see, sometimes I don’t feel worthy to receive God’s blessings. Have you ever felt that way? When I pray, I may ask God to help me survive — but not necessarily to thrive, if that makes sense. As I walk through big valleys, I think small.

God’s Word, though, shows He prepares a table of blessings, favor and communion for each of us. Yep — me and you! It’s okay to anticipate that He will take care of us. Isn’t that good news?

I don’t know about you, but my heart is full. I praise God for calling me His, and I am open to receiving what He wants to give me. I hope you are, too!

What's one action you can take to refocus your thoughts to what God wants to give you so that you don't settle for less?

For Your Weekend:
You know what I love about Jennifer’s videos? I learn something new from each one! This week she continues to unpack the words “table,” “anointing” and “overflow” from our memory verse. The fill-in-the-blank notes starting on page 170 will help you spot important points in the video. It’s 27 minutes — the perfect time frame for a rest break, right?
