Hey y’all, it’s Brandy, your study leader this week!
Right now I’m grinning so hard my face hurts. Why? Because you’re here for Week 2 of our Trustworthy study!
Last week, we learned that trust is a choice. What a hard pill to swallow, right?! But look at you now! You’re back here ready to learn more about trusting God. I’m proud of you.
Let’s jump into what we’ll learn this week!
This Week’s Focus
We’ll be studying Kings Rehoboam and Jeroboam.
Our Verse of the Week is Psalm 52:8b:
“I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever.”
In this week’s reading, Lysa points out how Kings Rehoboam and Jeroboam deviated from obeying the Lord because they didn’t trust Him. Are we any different? We’re going to see how we won’t obey who we don’t trust. Ouch! As you dig in, pay attention to this. Jot down what the kings wanted more than pleasing God, and what their disobedience cost them. Also pay attention to how you may personally relate.
Weekly Resources
In this week’s P31 OBS video, Author Lysa TerKeurst, P31 OBS Manager Kendra Schwarz and Director of Theology Joel Muddamalle are back to talk about some patterns of distrust we see in the lives of this week’s kings. Sadly, they are patterns we repeat in our own lives too. Check it out!
Here are instructions to access closed captioning or the video transcript if you need them.
We also have this week’s Study at a Glance for you again in case you missed it last week. This convenient resource is just what you need if you want to know what to expect and how you can participate each week. I invite you to grab yours today!
STUDY AT A GLANCE
OK ladies, now you’re ready for this study week! Let’s dig into our books and meet back here on Wednesday to chat about what we’re learning. Deal?
