Cue: Door Slam

September 29, 2017

Hey there!

I know, I know. You’re thinking, "Where's Melissa and Nicki?! They’re the hosts. Not you!” Trust me, I miss them too. But don’t you worry! I’m excited for you to hear something God laid on my heart and #TBH (to be honest), I haven’t shared this with many people so why not start with you...

Here we go!

(Note: all of our YouTube videos are now closed captioned for the deaf/hard-of-hearing.)

If you can’t view the video above, watch here on YouTube.

Yep, God slammed that door and hasn’t opened it even a smidgen. But I’m grateful for that door closing. It has totally redirected me in the best. Way. Possible. Now that you know a little bit about what God taught me, it’s your turn to reflect on what He is teaching you!

Reflect and Respond:

Observe — In today’s video, I shared all about God slamming a door that I wanted to keep open. Can you think of a door that God has (gently and so sweetly) closed?
Bible — One of our OBSers once shared how walking into the unknown is hard … just like our Verse of the Week teaches how God is with you and you shouldn’t be afraid. Go ahead and write that in your OBS journal and really let it soak in.
Stretch — Time to get specific with God! I have a challenge for you. Ask God to show you why He shut a door or what opportunities have come into your life because that door was shut. Also, honor God by being obedient to His ways.
