Get Excited for Your Uninvited OBS, Week 4

September 29, 2017

Hi! Welcome to Week 4!

I’m excited to be back with you for more study time. Let’s keep going together and not give up, OK?

Our #UninvitedBook reading for this week includes Chapters 9 through 11, and I think I highlighted something on every page. For real! There are so many great golden nuggets woven throughout these chapters.

Yeah, you might say I’m a bit excited for this week of study! And getting to do it with you is so fun! We have a few special guests joining us on today’s video – one on a stick, and one not (wink, wink). Check out the video below to see who they are, and I’ll catch up with you after.

Note: All of our YouTube OBS videos are now closed captioned for the deaf/hard-of-hearing.

Wow! Hearing the lie we’re “not good enough” hurts incredibly, doesn’t it? But I love what Lysa TerKeurst shared in today’s video from Chapter 9:

“You aren’t set aside. You are set apart.”

Isn’t that so assuring? We’re set apart by God to work in us so He can work through us! God is so cool. I just love Him!

Amy Carroll, one of our special guests this week, mentioned in today’s video how we’re going to look at Mission India. There’ll be an amazing opportunity for us to help, through prayer, some of the most uninvited women in India to know they, too, are set apart. What a powerful and exciting way to be involved with these beautiful women, heart-to-heart! Amy will join us in the next blog post, with more details. So stay tuned!

Meanwhile, wondering what else is happening this week? We’ve got you covered with this week’s Weekly Lowdown! Remember you get to choose what you want to do. These are simply the options. So be sure to print yours and then let’s go!

Weekly Lowdown

Week 4 starts NOW.

Reflect and Respond:

Observe — How does your perspective change knowing you’re set apart, not set aside?
Bible — This week’s verse is 1 Peter 5:6. which says: “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.” (NIV)

Uninvited

In your OBS Journal, write out the verse and then work through the following to share with us:
  • What does this Scripture look like for your life right now?
  • Is there anything God wants you to release and give to Him?
Stretch — Who in your life could use the encouragement that they are “set apart” too? How can you share this message with them today?
