It All Starts With Connecting {Week 3}

“Get Out of Your Head” by Jennie Allen | P31 OBS Week 3 Quote

Hey, y'all!

You know what I’ve been praising God for lately? His power to sustain me during tough times. He’s been there for me in miraculous, mysterious ways.

When I’ve felt at my lowest, He has ...

  • Comforted me through Scripture.
  • Encouraged me through songs.
  • Sent others to remind me I am His.
  • Strengthened me through prayers.

I’ve sobbed uncontrollably in my closet. I’ve spoken harshly to myself about myself. I’ve messed up. I’ve struggled to maintain friendships because I isolate instead of share. God’s been with me through it all.

But you know what? The hardest times are when I pull away from Him. When I miss reading His Word, I believe lies. When I skip prayer, I lose focus. When busyness takes over, it’s hard to see just how much His presence means to me.

Let’s keep it real. Situations don’t always work out as I plan or hope. Oh, but when I imagine going through them without prayer, Scripture, a kind word, a sermon or a truthful thought, it scares me. Having Him there to go with me through tough situations is such a blessing. Staying connected to Him is always the best decision I can make.

I don’t always get it right. The Lord knows this! I won’t let imperfection stop me from pursuing His best for me, though.

Now, what about you? Do you see the blessing in connecting with God? Are you trying to fix your thought life apart from seeking a relationship with Him? We’re God’s beloved daughters, y’all. He loves us so much. I truly believe the tools, practical steps and advice in Get Out of Your Head will all sink in and bring about real change when we start with Him. Connecting with Him will transform our thought life.

God, may we pause today to seek You first.
