The Missing Links

January 30, 2023

Welcome back, friend! It’s Week 2, and I'm glad you're still with me.

Remember the journal (My Personal Boundaries Journey) I mentioned last week? Lysa TerKeurst said she hopes this journal and her book “will be the missing link to the healthy relationships you desire.”

That said, I thought it’d be helpful to share a little from what I wrote down so far. Just so you have an idea of how what you jot down can be simple and what speaks to you. The good news: There’s no right or wrong way to fill it out and no right or wrong answers. You can share as much or as little as you want. And if you haven’t even written in it yet, it’s OK. There’s no deadline.

Here's my journal entry from a Chapter 1 prompt:

Remember: Lysa said, “I had the wrong notion that to be a Christian requires that we believe the best no matter what. That it’s unkind to draw boundaries. That it’s noble and commendable to stay in a relationship no matter what. I no longer believe that.”

See, short and sweet! I encourage you to write down quotes, thoughts or insights that stick with you too.

Now let's talk about this week! We’re reading Chapters 3 and 4. Chapter 3 talks about dysfunction in relationships. In Chapter 4, Lysa breaks down more about how God has set and kept boundaries with humans in the past. Even when we disobeyed Him. And buckle up, we’ll learn more about the difference between good and bad boundaries.

So, are you ready to jump into Week 2? Let's do this!

What's one sign that indicates a relationship may be dysfunctional? Do you see this in any of your own relationships? (Please note: This is a public page. Any comment left here can be viewed by anyone who has the link to this page.)
