2 Important Habits {Week 5}

July 15, 2019

Hello again! It’s great to be back with you today. While I’ve literally loved every single week this study, I’ve most eagerly awaited this one.

The topics this week, quiet time and prayer, are important keys when it comes to processing and moving forward with everything God’s teaching us. They’re how we connect with Him daily. How we move from a head knowledge of God, to a personal and intimate relationship with Him — the one who unconditionally loves us and never leaves us.

Where are you at in the process?

No matter where you are in moving from knowledge into a relationship, no matter where you are in your quiet time and prayer life, no matter where you are in this study, I invite and encourage you to join us right here in Week 5 with Chapters 8 and 9 of Hidden Joy. This is a week you don’t want to miss! It’s going to help you develop two important habits that’ll lead you to true joy.

Your Weekly Resources and Memory Verse:

As we get rolling, Kendra and Wendy are back in this week’s video, chatting about why it’s so important to have quiet time and prayer. They’re also sharing some steps and habits for having a successful quiet and prayer time. I’m loving the wisdom and heart in these weekly conversations, aren’t you?

Need instructions for accessing closed captioning or the video transcript? We’ve got you covered!

How are things going with your weekly memory verses? Have you added a few to your memory bank? If not, it’s not too late! You can start fresh with this week’s, which is a short but powerful one:

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” Colossians 4:2 (NIV)

If you could use some memorization help, don’t miss the tip in the Week at a Glance! While you’re there, you can also check out what’s planned for this week’s study and giveaway.

On Wednesday, we’ll be diving deeper into the habits of quiet time and prayer through this week’s Bible Study Companion. Be sure to meet back up with us then so you can grab your copy and jump in!

Looking forward to spending another week with you!
Kat

Reflect and Respond:

What does your time with God and your prayer life currently look like? What’s one way you’d like to grow in these? (frequency, depth, length, listening more, understanding, studying, journaling, etc.)
