Controlled by the Spirit {Week 5}

July 20, 2020

Hey, friends! It's Alicia again! I’m so glad to be back with you for Week 5.

We've uncovered some great truths these last four weeks together as we bravely shared our failures, fears and frailties. One important truth is that we are all valuable and useful to God.

It's been such a joy reading your comments about how you're learning to shift your focus to Jesus and what you can learn through your failures, fears and frailties to help you discover your hidden potential! Let's keep going!

This Week’s Topic:
Our fourth and final “F” is faults. Wendy tells us up front in Chapter 5 that revealing and talking about faults can be humbling. I mean, who wants to admit or share those areas in our lives that could be viewed as flaws? But it’s when we allow our faults to become excuses that we encounter problems. We will discover this week that the solution can be found, instead, in letting God’s Word and the Holy Spirit lead us.

Verse of the Week:
God has a special purpose for our lives. The Apostle Paul tells us in this week’s verse that we are God’s work of art! But God did not create us merely for display. We are saved by His grace so we can fulfill the plan He has for us.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)

Weekly OBS Video:
Wendy and Kendra are back to discuss the importance of seeing ourselves through the lens of God’s Word. Wendy shares a personal example of how doing this brought real change to her life. Let’s tune in!

Here are instructions to access closed captioning AND the video transcripts if you need them.

In today's video, Wendy said, "the more time we spend with God in His Word, it starts gnawing at us." He can reveal our flaws the more we spend time with Him in His Word. Has there been a time where you've spent time with God and felt Him revealing a flaw in you? How did He use it for good?
