Truth Over News

Hey!

I hope you’ve had a great week! As we wrap up this week, let’s take some time and do a quick recap of a few things we can take with us to reflect on...

  • There will be times God gives us more than we can handle, but He will be with us and give us His strength to endure.
  • Sometimes the process is long and painful, but it’s during the process that God molds, prepares and strengthens us for what’s ahead — His promise and ultimate good for us.
  • When we feel as if we’re drowning and life feels impossible, we can identify what’s news and what’s Truth, and then choose to focus on Truth. News is the facts of our situation, the things we can’t control (or like I wrote about in our last post, the puzzle piece that’s handed to us). Truth is what God’s Word says about us, our situation and who He is, such as these Lysa shared with us:

I am the way and the truth and the life. (John 14:6)
I am forever faithful. (Psalm 146:6)
I am with you. (Isaiah 41:10)
I am holding you. (Psalm 73:23)
I am your hiding place. (Psalm 32:7)

So let’s cling, believe and put our focus and confidence in these Truths. And in the midst of our pain, let’s remember these words from Lysa TerKeurst in It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way:

“God isn’t picking on me. God is picking me to personally live out one of His promises.”

He loves us way too much to leave us in our broken state. He’s using our pieces to prepare and create something better than we could ever imagine. So let’s trust the process. HIS process.

Enjoyed studying with you!

Anna
