What’s Your Dream?

Riding the school bus home from first grade, 6-year-old me confidently informed my bus driver that my dream was to be a Dallas Cowboys football cheerleader when I grew up.

Years later, sitting on the porch with my boyfriend, I quietly but confidently shared my dream of being a wife and a mother with a house full of children.

That boyfriend is now my husband, and he’s absolutely my dream come true.

But there is no house full of children. And no one calls me "Mama."

Admittedly, it wasn’t difficult to let go of my Dallas Cowboys cheerleader dream, but allowing God to redefine my dream of being a mama with a house full of children is a difficult act of surrender.

I’m Nichole Stern, one of your study leaders for our next P31 OBS, The Dream of You, and I’d love to know:

What’s your dream?

  • Career?
  • Husband?
  • Family?
  • Fitness?
  • Success?

Maybe you’re one of those rare unicorns who has had all her dreams come true, but if you’re like me and have struggled to make sense of those dreams you’ve been forced to let go of or those God has redefined, I hope you’ll join us.

I can’t promise that joining this study will make all of your dreams come true, but I do hope it will help equip you to follow confidently after Christ and to rest in who you are in Him while trusting the purpose He has for you.

On page 6 of The Dream of You, author Jo Saxton says:

“The Dream of You is God’s vision for you — your real, true identity and your God-given purpose.”

Sounds almost impossible, doesn’t it? But friends, nothing is impossible with God.

But Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” (Matthew 19:26, ESV)

Invite a friend to join you! Then make sure to get your book, grab your Bible and join us on September 7 to awaken the dream of you!
