Dreamer to Dreamer {Week 3}

September 24, 2021

Dear Dreamer,

Perhaps some of our dreams are unrealistic. For example: my dream of being a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader when I was five years old and we lived in Illinois (pretty far from Texas). While I’ve always been able to yell loudly enough to get people’s attention, my back handspring skills have never been what you would call "exceptional."

On the other hand, my dream of being a wife and mother seems reasonable enough; to most, it’s even commonplace.

God definitely nailed it with my dream-come-true husband, Todd. But despite 13 years of hoping, praying and waiting, my dream of being somebody’s mama has yet to come true.

I hope the heartache of broken dreams is one you never have to experience, but if you’re like me, trying to make sense of those dreams God has redefined, may I offer you some encouragement today?

God’s plans for you are good and His love for you is unfailing.

I spent some time studying 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 (NLT) this morning and I’m praying these verses over each of you:

“So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way you live, and you will be honored along with him. This is all made possible because of the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ.”

Our broken hearts and broken dreams matter to God, and when we surrender our lives to Him, He will work in us and through us by His grace and for His glory.

Friend, there is no greater calling.

Trust His plan. Trust His purpose.

Trust His dream of you, and let your life speak volumes for His glory, even when your mouth cannot.

XOXO

Nichole

P.S. As we approach the halfway point in our study, I want to check to see how you’re doing. I know it can be difficult to think back on our lives and the dreams we’ve left behind. We’re here for you, friend, and we’d love to connect with you via our Facebook Community Group or in the comment section of the Monday newsletter.
