Thrown for a Loop?

October 2, 2017

Wait and See Leaders

Hello, friend! Can you believe we’re in Week 4 of #WaitAndSee already?

How’s your study going so far? If you’ve fallen behind at all, don’t worry! Remember, our motto here at #P31OBS is “Your life is crazy. But your Bible Study doesn’t have to be!” So instead of trying to play catch up, go ahead and skip any parts you’ve missed, and join us in this week’s fun.

To help you know what’s happening this week, here’s your Weekly Lowdown! Don’t miss these free printable downloads. They have all the details you need, like what chapters to read and what to expect each day this week.

In the video, Nichole mentioned how sometimes we can feel like we’ve been thrown for a loop during our wait. Maybe circumstances don’t look the way we thought they would. Or perhaps we’ve asked God for an answer to prayer that He hasn’t answered immediately. I know I’ve felt like I’ve done a few loop de loops during some of my waits! Which is why I love our verse this week:

“Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” Psalm 51:12 (NIV)

Wait and See Week 4

This verse reminds me that when we feel we’ve been thrown for a loop in our wait, we can ask God to help restore our joy and give us what we need to sustain us. And when we do, He will take our loops and make them straight!

Reflect and Respond:

Observe — When I feel like I’m being thrown for a loop, I like to listen to worship music. It helps me relax and turn my focus to God. What do you like to do when you’ve been thrown for a loop?
Bible — Take a moment to read our verse, Psalm 51:12, in a few different versions. One of my favorites is the New Living Translation. Which version speaks to you the most? How does it help you to have a better understanding of this verse?
Stretch —In the video, Nichole Stern mentioned going out this week and focusing on who God is. What’s one NEW step you’ll take this week to help you focus more on God?

I’m looking forward to chatting with you and hearing your thoughts! If we were in the same room, I’d offer you a cup of coffee … Oh how I wish! But for now, let’s meet up in the comments by sharing our answers to today’s Reflect and Respond questions, and replying to each other with some encouragement.
