Worth the Wait!

October 2, 2017
Wait and See

Hey there! Welcome to Week 3 of Wait and See! I hope you had a fabulous Week 2! But we have TONS of GREAT STUFF you don’t want to miss!

For starters, check out our Verse of the Week, which is one of my favorites. Proverbs 3:5 (NIV) says:

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”

Oh, how I need this reminder on a regular basis!

How comforting is it to know that even though we don’t always understand the situations we’re in, or reasons why things happen, God DOES. Like when we had a 1-1/2-year-old and a 2-day-old child, and our rental was sold out from under us and we had no idea where we would go ... but God DID. And despite our uncertainty, it all worked out for the best.

But if you’re anything like me, sometimes in the midst of a wait, living out our verse for this week can be difficult. That’s why I love the 3 useful weapons Wendy Pope describes in this week’s video below, to help equip us through our wait! Take a look ...

Um, “Trish kabob”? HaHa! If you didn’t watch the video above, don’t miss this hilarious moment! Wendy also gives a ton of reassurance for anybody who’s not familiar or comfortable with studying your Bible. (If that’s you, you’re not alone!)

And wow, how powerful are those weapons Wendy shares? Time to strap on our Truth, Prayer and Praise and turn our waiting time into Wait TRAINING TIME!

To help us with that, here’s the Weekly Lowdown, including a schedule for the week, a suggested reading plan and more! Be sure to click the download below and save or print it for easy reference throughout the week.

Okay, Let’s do this! I hope you have a great Week 3.

Reflect and Respond:

Observe — At the end of Chapter 4 in Wait and See, Wendy Pope encourages us to ask ourselves,“What is the greatest obstacle I face? Wavering? Fear? Confidence? Selfishness? Unbelief?” Mine is a combo of fear and self-confidence. What’s yours?
Bible — Read Proverbs 3:5 again. How does this truth help you with your time of wait?
Stretch — Also in Chapter 4, Wendy shares how she uses our verse this week as her “waver mantra.” Write down her prayer below. Then each time a restless, doubtful or negative thought creeps in this week, pull it out to pray:
“Lord, I know You understand all aspects of this situation and You are in control. Help me to not lean on my understanding, but to trust Yours.”
