Who Do You Need God to Be? {Week 2}

December 11, 2020

It's Fri-yay, and I am ecstatic to end our week together.

God is a good, good God. But I know, depending on our circumstances, it's easier to say than believe. Sometimes it's hard to remember that who He is is exactly who we need Him to be.

Today, I took my hot pink pen (you gotta make it fun, ya know?) and wrote out Psalm 103:1-4 on page 34. It says:

"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy" (ESV).

Then I narrowed in on who God is. He's the one who...

Forgives.
Heals.
Redeems.
Crowns.

He is exactly who we need Him to be. So today, who do you need God to be? When the kids are crying. When the cookies burn (anyone else?). When the finances are low. When the friend stops calling. When the test results come back positive. Who do you need Him to be?

Helper.
Comforter.
Healer.
Fill in the blank.

Let's claim who He is together, and go into our weekend knowing He is who we need Him to be at the exact moment we need it.

For Your Weekend: Finish out Week 2 by completing the journaling on pages 36 and 38, along with your own reflections on page 41. If you didn't have time to complete every verse or journaling prompt, that's okay. Do what works best for you. On Monday, we'll begin our final week together on page 42.

Let's Chat!

Who do you need God to be today and why? I'd love to know!
