God, I don’t want to forgive. And while that makes me feel like a bad Christian, I don’t know how to change my heart. I am so deeply hurt by this person I loved so much. I don’t feel like I deserved what they did to me — I tried my hardest to be what they needed, and their actions feel heartless and cruel. But because I know Your Word says to forgive, I don’t want to stay in this place of bitterness. No matter how hard it is, I know I need to move toward forgiveness. Soften my heart. Help me see the bigger picture of what forgiveness does in me. I know You have forgiven me, even when I didn’t deserve it. Help me heal and walk forward today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
“But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:44-45a, NLT).
“Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God” (Genesis 6:9, NIV).
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:10-12, NIV).
“But the two children struggled with each other in her womb. So she went to ask the Lord about it. ‘Why is this happening to me?’ she asked” (Genesis 25:22, NLT).
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7, NLT).
“The LORD passed in front of him and proclaimed: The LORD—the LORD is a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and abounding in faithful love and truth ...” (Exodus 34:6, CSB).
God, I long for deep friendships in this season of my life. I know You designed people to be in community with one another. Your Word says it is not good for us to be alone (Genesis 2:18). I would love to have other women around me who encourage me and point me to You. It can feel isolating and lonely to try to navigate life without trusted friends. I pray You bring people into my life who are seeking after You — people who I can have fun with but who are also willing to talk about hard things we are facing and to pray for one another. Teach me first how to be that friend to others. Show me where I can meet women like this. Help me overcome my fears, insecurities, and hurts from past relationships. In Jesus’ name, amen.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3, NIV).
“In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:6, NKJV).
