Do You Want To Be Healed From Your Mother Wounds?
Dr. Sarita T. Lyons
“When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, ‘Do you want to be healed?’” (John 5:6, ESV).
Jesus, thank You for showing me that true love is not about standing tall but bending low in humility and sacrifice. Teach me to love like You — with a heart willing to serve, forgive, and kneel in grace. When the world tells me love must impress, remind me of love that sacrifices. Remind me of Your cross. Let Your perfect love fill my heart so it overflows into my family, friendships, and every quiet corner of my life. Help me bend low in love today, just as You stooped low to save me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
“… God sent His only Son into the world so that we could find true life through Him. This is the embodiment of true love: not that we have loved God first, but that He loved us and sent His unique Son on a special mission to become an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” 1 John 4:9-10 (VOICE)
“Then they lifted up their voices and wept again. And Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth clung to her.” Ruth 1:14 (ESV)
“The law of the Lᴏʀᴅ is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lᴏʀᴅ is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the Lᴏʀᴅ are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lᴏʀᴅ is pure, enlightening the eyes …” Psalm 19:7-8 (ESV)
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19 (ESV)
“‘because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.’ Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father?” Hebrews 12:6-7 (NIV)
Lord, in a world that pushes me to strive and perform, help me pause and rest in Your presence. Quiet the noise inside and around me so I can hear Your still, peaceful voice. Teach me to find my worth not in what I do but who I am in You. Fill my hurried heart with Your calming Spirit, and steady my soul in Your Truth. Today I choose silence, stillness, and the hope that comes from waiting on You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
“My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him.” Psalm 62:5 (NASB1995)
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NIV)
“When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, ‘Do you want to be healed?’” (John 5:6, ESV).
God, I don’t want to forgive. And while that makes me feel like a bad Christian, I don’t know how to change my heart. I am so deeply hurt by this person I loved so much. I don’t feel like I...
“But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:44-45a, NLT).
“Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God” (Genesis 6:9, NIV).
